Take an exciting story, a mobile stage with specially handcrafted puppets and lovingly designed stage sets, plus playful puppeteers, spice it all up with a strong breeze of knowledge and mix in the clever ideas of the audience in free improvisation.

The result is a special kind of theatre experience, because at URANIA the motto ‘Knowledge makes theatre’ is written in capital letters. This is reflected not only in the themes on which the self-written theatre plays are based, but also in the fact that the audience, young and old, is actively involved in the action on stage and thus becomes part of the plot. The children learn in a very playful way and can test their own knowledge.

URANIA, founded by Ivonne Fischer and Andreas Henz, was one of the first people to use House D of the Stadtwirtschaft and has remained loyal to the location. The theatre rehearses, works - and occasionally performs - here. In addition, the ensemble regularly performs in daycare centres and schools or at festivals throughout Germany.
