Guests from Denmark
In early June, the Cultural Affairs Office Chemnitz welcomed a delegation from Kolding, which also paid a visit to the Stadtwirtschaft.
Mette Fersløv and Kristina Ladager, director and staff member, respectively, in the Cultural Department of Denmark’s tenth-largest city, wanted to learn firsthand how culture can be used as a tool for urban development. Among other things, they learned about the development process of Chemnitz’s cultural strategy and, at the Hartmannfabrik, about the MBA and volunteer programs of Chemnitz 2025. They also visited the marketing team of the "Chemnitz. Zwickau. Region." tourism association. One afternoon was also devoted to the development of intervention areas using tools for citizen participation. During this time, the Danish colleagues stopped by the new park at the railroad viaduct over Annaberger Straße and took a guided tour of the newly redesigned Stadtwirtschaft to explore the largest intervention area for Chemnitz 2025, which will serve as a maker hub in the future. The Stadtwirtschaft team extends its heartfelt thanks for the interest and collegial exchange and will incorporate the insights from Kolding into its future work!
