Kunstfabrik Chemnitz is open to anyone who enjoys artistic creation.
The "Kunstfabrik" was founded in 1991 by the artists Ute Schmieder and Wolf Oskar Seese under the motto ‘Art in all areas of life’. It is an open space for anyone who enjoys artistic creation – bringing together children and young people, and people with and without disabilities.
Since summer 2026, the "Chemnitzer Kunstfabrik" has been run by "AWO Soziale Dienste Chemnitz und Umgebung gGmbH" and forms a part of our Stadtwirtschaft Community. The "Kunstfabrik's" new accessible spaces (studio and workshop) welcome all active and aspiring artists – including those working in the fields of painting, graphic art and ceramics.
The "Kunstfabrik" is open from Monday to Friday, 2.00 pm to 8.00 pm, and on Wednesdays from 2.00 pm to 10.00 pm.
