ERIKA e.V.

The nonprofit organization ERIKA e.V. was founded in April 2020 by various key players associated with the PampelMUSE arts-focused kindergarten in Chemnitz. It all began with a writing and printing workshop for children and teens, which—as part of the KRACH (Kreativraum Chemnitz) program—was among the first users of building D at the Stadtwirtschaft. Here, children, teens, and adults can work together and, through writing and drawing, explore and make sense of the world.

For the creators at ERIKA e.V., the focus is on producing creative works—from text and language to the accompanying illustrations, all the way to the finished book, which is often printed as a one-of-a-kind piece or in a small run: At the Druckstube (printing workshop), school-aged children and teens can regularly work on their own stories, design illustrations, create and print linocuts, and—in the end—(perhaps) hold their very own book in their hands.
