Being Creative Together

Marina Klavina is an artist, art educator, and curator with an international network

Marina Klavina, an artist, art educator, and curator, studied European Studies and, after spending several years abroad, most recently worked for the EU in Brussels. In addition to German, she also speaks Russian, English, and French.

She earned her high school diploma in art in Chemnitz and honed her creative skills at art academies in Brussels. Proud of her hometown of Chemnitz, she returned there just in time for the start of the 2025 Capital of Culture year. She is looking for collaborations and opportunities to create together in order to help shape her hometown in a positive way. She feels a special connection to Chemnitz, as her life’s journey—like the city itself—is undergoing a transformation.

She also wants to inspire others to boldly follow their own path and bring more color and creativity into their lives. She is grateful to Stadtwirtschaft—a space that is itself undergoing transformation—and to the people behind it for allowing her to be an active part of it.
